SOLD!

Yesterday was the first day of the Viewpoints Gallery "Celebration of Hawaii" show in Makawao (Sunday is the opening).

Marilyn called me last night and told me that "Honu" sold to a couple from Maryland!

I am still in shock! What an absolutely fabulous way to start the weekend.

I had actually been thinking, just yesterday, of where I would enter him next when he came home at the end of the show; now I don't have to worry about that.

It's a little sad to see him go. It was probably one of the quilts I was most attached to. Aloha, Honu!

YEAH! Isn't the affirmation that someone's willing to pay money (and I hope it's a lot) for your art a nice feeling?

I just went back through your blog to view all the postings about making this wonderful sea turtle. He is truly magnificent!

Congradulations Dianna! I'm sure it must be bittersweet though! He is so beautiful, it's hard to say good-by.
I guess you'll just have to make another?

I saw him at Road to CA, and he's gorgeous. I am sure you will miss him. Congratulations on your sale!

Congratulations on the sale, even if you hate to see him go. I saw Honu in Columbus last year and thought he was beautifully crafted!

I'm glad that you are receiving so much positive feedback on your art work. Exhibits, shows, galleries, awards - and SALES!!!! The last one has, perhaps, the most meaning in our present culture.

In any case, it's a beautifully conceived and well executed design with quality workmanship. I hope your selling price reflects all that!

Congrats and may you have many more sales to come.
